All-black cats with yellow eyes really stand out once you know what to look for. I saw one dart across Hawthorne Blvd near the park last night — he looked skittish just like you described. I posted on the Portland Lost Pets Facebook group.

Black cats are often picked up by mistake for 'strays' — have you contacted the Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood? They intake a lot of black cats. Praying Shadow comes home safe.
